Flowing Streams

Flowing Streams

Light and life in flowing streams
Let’s seek them out, beyond the schemes
For simple is the way of truth
It doesn’t need a super-sleuth

The world a stage?  We always knew
And everything’s just passing through
The hopes and fears of each mind
Will come and go whilst most are blind

And reading may not bring the way
So much is thought, but what’s to say?
The depth of human-kind is rare
Don’t doubt you’ll find the ones who care

So with this searching, life is born
And once again, another dawn
Excitement rises, floods our dreams
No darkness beats these flowing streams

Holiday Times

Holiday Times

Holiday times can change your view
With places old and places new
So much to learn, explore, reflect
A break brings more than you expect

Don’t work without the hope for rest
We’re here to live, more than we guessed
Strive on with visions greater still
So far beyond the running mill

With peace of mind a mission’s clear
The answers suddenly appear
All swept away are olden doubts
Results may come when freedom shouts

So heed the call, there’s not much time
And every chance will help you climb
The web of life brings joy so clear
When holiday times again draw near

Where Is Truth?

Where Is Truth?

Where is truth?  It’s time to ask
And who could be up to the task?
You’ll find so many went before
Not guessing what life held in store

Have caution in the search, my friend
For life is fragile, all must end
But that’s no reason to back down
Find meaning now, in vale and town

The past has more than we may guess
Don’t move too fast amidst life’s mess
Mistakes are rife, and who’s immune?
With too much pride you’ll lose love’s tune

Think deeply then, and make your move
There’s nothing left to lose or prove
And when tomorrow comes around
You may find truth, at last, is found

The Outer Edge

The Outer Edge

The outer edge is where they live
Still watching as we take and give
One day the world will change for good
And then too late for ‘could’ or ‘would’

A time to think on who we are
The times we failed or went too far
And then to start with something new
Before our dreams slide out of view

We’re all the same within this place
Don’t be afraid to show your face
And if you are, then heed these words
You’re weaker than the bees and birds

For whom may words like this have use?
Who knows?  At times they’re far too loose
But leave the toys, no time to hedge
They’re coming from the outer edge

The Soulless Void

The Soulless Void

The soulless void is here, you know
Don’t dwell on it, just let it go
For it consumes your every hope
Until you can no longer cope

So rise above this beast of doom
It’s Easter-time, escape the tomb
In every facet of our lives
Some hope exists, good fortune strives

The work we do lives on from here
Take comfort in the truth that’s near
With every smile and helpful word
Some great new good once more occurred

We may not see where things moved on
For one day we will all be gone
Let’s help the evil be destroyed
Farewell now to the soulless void

Why So Much?

Why So Much?

Why so much?  It never ends!
One man denies, and one pretends
Some lies and we will never know
Or will we?  How will this world go?

Take care and notice every beat
It’s hard but details you will meet
And in these things the truth can hide
Whilst trust the small-print may divide

For friends are hard to find, it’s true
So search some more, they seek you too
And when the connection’s made at last
That searching now is in the past

So live with courage, live some more
Don’t doubt great things still lie in store
Keep talking, asking, stay in touch
And then you’ll know why there’s so much

What We’ve Got

What We’ve Got

Does it matter, what we’ve got?
Some have a little, some a lot
And who is happy in this time?
Don’t guess too soon, read through this rhyme

The answer is that no-one knows
One day things change, new fortune grows
And still the answer isn’t plain
Think on these things, and think again

The games are endless, who may win?
Contestants race once they begin
And yet the questions still remain
Some live in lies, some live in pain

Look further than your shadowed friends
A chance is here to make amends
With truth and beauty, burning hot
Give thanks today for what we’ve got

Happy Easter

Happy Easter

Happy Easter, one and all
Think what may be, what may befall
The future comes no matter what
For every soul, life has its slot

And yet a happy time eludes
Where doubt and darkness ever broods
Have caution as you journey on
Lest all your helpers may be gone

A time of angels and of saints
Aware of worldly vice that taints
How could we turn and not allow
The brightness to come through, somehow

A world of wonder in the mind
Which seeks but somehow will not find
For turning from some good advice
A million things could now entice

Take strength then from this Easter-time
For cynics it won’t cost a dime
No pressure, choose that love will win
At Easter let new life begin

Commitment

Commitment

Commitment is a force that wins
It beats a thousand lies and sins
For when you meet the one that’s sure
You’ll see their goal and nothing more

A barren wasteland you may find
When searching through this humankind
But when at last you’ve found the gold
Then all has changed from days of old

Wherever life may lead, take heart
We knew the story from the start
To suffer has its place, my friend
And often it is worth the end

Hold on then, for the world is small
A silent, spinning, puzzle-ball
Seek out the truth with peace in mind
Commitment brings what you defined

A Wider View

A Wider View

It’s time to take a wider view
To step back now and think it through
The thoughts and actions in this time
Will bring success or lead to crime

So who are we?  Where are we bound?
The world moves on without a sound
Then one day, all becoming clear
The truth at last will reappear

Have boldness and some caution too
Start with your mission, see it through
And others see just what is done
Make time for work and time for fun

The balance is what we now seek
So much occurs within a week
Make choices now, at least a few
But always with a wider view
