In Time

In Time

Time is here and time is there
In fact you’ll find time’s everywhere
He’s far away, also inside
Wherever he likes he shall reside

This playful imp will never sleep
He doesn’t snore but might count sheep
Because he can, he’s free to choose
He plays to win, can never lose

Don’t cheat time, how could that work?
You’d go stir crazy, plain berserk
The hands are ticking, the lights flash by
No matter what form, time’s never shy

Displayed for all in every land
In glorious majesty all is planned
By Father Time, a generous soul
He lives on still, he’ll meet his goal

So let him be, don’t start to fret
Don’t let his ticking cause you to sweat
Relax and see your life’s sublime
When you accept your place in time

When Things Go Wrong

When Things Go Wrong

When things go wrong, as they can do
Don’t fight too hard to find the clue
It might be something else to blame
But start your search within, with you

The world spins on, not much has changed
Of course life’s gifts are rearranged
Yet basic truths will never die
And likewise, neither you nor I

So have some faith that all is well
Although we know that time will tell
Some shocks, surprises perhaps in store
Despite disguises, life gives more

Go onwards, upwards, never stop
It’s never too busy at the top
For billions searching down below
Are looking upwards at the show

It’s quite a scene, there’s much to see
It’s not quite everyone’s cup of tea
But some will wonder if there’s more
And what their life might have in store

These souls will rise, they’ll not know why
Yet something draws them to the sky
And way beyond, where stars are born
A peaceful haven from life’s scorn

There isn’t a chance, with faith and hope
Your mission could fail – you know you’ll cope
Whatever life throws, however things fall
When things go wrong, stay standing tall

Back for Good

Back for Good

Thank you for your patient eyes
I’m back for good, now here’s your prize
I love to write and love to share
So watch this space, you know I care!

So how’ve you been since then, old friend?
I trust you believed it wasn’t the end
For life lives on and people grow
The current’s there still, eternal flow

Wondrous oceans, rolling seas
The skies of blue, soft summer breeze
The dolphins, birds and glorious sights
The endless days and endless nights

A time for thought and looking both ways
The past and future, through present haze
Perspective on a life so great
A chance to learn it’s good to wait

So many things then now to come
The ball’s still rolling, I hear the drum
Let’s march on now through more fine dreams
The world is ours, its treasure still gleams

And keep in mind, still more my friend
That even this one day must end
I’m back for good, more words you’ll see
But even good, in time, must flee

AWOL

AWOL

Yes I’ve gone, across the sea
You won’t hear much, for now, from me
The ship has sailed, the bird has flown
I’ll have to leave you all alone

So take this time to search elsewhere
In love and war, you’ll find all’s fair
Enjoy this month, for I sure will
I’ve gone AWOL, but writing still

Time and Trouble

Time and Trouble

Time will pass and trouble can come
Perspectives change, it’s nothing to some
They keep on living through every cloud
They never complain or cry out loud

Remember the life we live so well
Is not for free, the price won’t tell
But things can come and things will go
Tomorrow there’s something new to know

No matter what we strive to be
There’s never a cost to living free
But don’t pretend that peace is all
Without a fight the meek can fall

Take trouble to rise – take heart, grow strong
Make sure you’re clear, we hear your song
Don’t now imagine your words are dead
For every one’s in someone’s head

You have the time to care each day
The way you work, the way you play
There’s always chance to help things flow
With gentle kindness, wherever you go

I don’t care who or where you are
The size of house, your boat or car
But have respect and help me climb
Through trouble I came, so give me time

The Money Rules

The Money Rules

Money is numbers, little more
You never know what lies in store
The players live in many ways
The games go on through endless days
In searching to improve your lot
Have caution, think of what you’ve got
The bills need paying, you have to eat
Don’t risk too much, you’ll end up beat

Confusion in a world of fun
You could stop spending, cut and run
So think quite deeply, make a choice
You have control, you have a voice
Responsible in your daily moves
Your hopes and fears your action proves
The money rules don’t change much you see
But money can change both you and me

The Golden Light

The Golden Light

Look up each day and learn to see
There is a way for you to be
Your life is not an empty book
Think harder, take a closer look

We all have things to give and share
We all can take the time to care
No matter what has gone before
Another day, another shore

Be guided by the light of gold
To fortunes which were never told
It’s not just treasure you’ll find out there
It’s answers to your every prayer

Don’t now lose sight, you’ve set the course
Keep straight ahead, you have the force
You owe the world a better show
So let your dreams and talents grow

The light is there, it’s shining bright
You can’t deny it’s worth the fight
For life’s great wheel spins on through time
And lights of gold hide ‘neath the grime

Fruits of Life

Fruits of Life

The fruit, they say, won’t fall too far
But fruit has neither legs nor car
A man is not a fruit you see
He yearns to grow and to be free

So watch the fruit and see, it’s still
That’s not the way of human will
It moves and changes every day
It always has something to say

So find the truth of who you are
Reach out for the furthest star
You see it glistening, don’t pretend
That without this the tale must end

You know exactly what you need
Deep down a task you have to heed
It’s no use hiding from what you know
Move on with courage, you’re free to go

Yet also think on what is real
Don’t be too quick to make this meal
Be sure that when you take the knife
The fruit is good, will bring you life

For not all food is of this kind
The world is vast, and many are blind
You need to check the branch and root
And then, perhaps, devour the fruit

Doors

 Doors

When doors are slamming in your face
And you’ve almost deserted the human race
When friends are few and troubles grow
Just stop and think – where can I go?
There’s always hope for sincere hearts
When life is rough, and help departs
There’s still a chance that things can change
For life is bigger and far more strange

We’re drifting on an earth of dust
It’s full of passion, of fear and lust
But also beauty can be found
Don’t wait too long on common ground
Explore, be free, for life goes on
Move forward before all this is gone
Courage and hope in face of doubt
Discover what you can’t live without

For sometimes things need to be lost
Forget the meaning and the cost
As something else is waiting near
It can’t approach whilst still lives fear
The answer to your deepest prayer
The reason why you’re waiting there
At last you have wide open doors
And life begins, so fight your cause

Dreams

Dreams

Without dreams your life is dry
The only water, when you cry
Keep hopes alive and never forget
You have much more to do as yet

If sleeping is your only goal
Then where’s the life, where’s the soul?
Each moment is a chance to learn
One step further at every turn

So if your course has not been set
It’s time desire and action met
Make choices now and start to act
With someone, something, make that pact

But careful now for minds can turn
To lower realms where fingers burn
The devil is hungry and always waits
So be prepared for what he baits

The chances are you want much more
What might the future keep in store
Set values high with virtue strong
Take time and caution, you won’t go wrong

Think positive now and charge your mind
Meet people who are good and kind
These words I write in many reams
Such is the need for hopes and dreams
