A Peaceful Mind

A Peaceful Mind

A peaceful mind can not be bought
And nor can any hope or thought
These things are worth more than we’d guess
And money can bring both toil and stress

I called an old friend just today
And how surprised to hear him say
He’d made a million, many times more
But now he’s wondering what it’s for

Sow values in your mind from now
Don’t worry about the why or how
But kindness, goodness every day
Will help to bring the positive way

For many a mind has hidden fears
Despite illusions through the years
And peace ignored whilst demons play
Take care my friend, we’re only clay

Happiness

Happiness

Happiness should be at the top
These lists we have don’t ever stop
We want a million things, but why?
Not one will matter when we die

The days will come and go, my friend
They’ll keep on going until the end
Then let’s enjoy the time we’re here
Don’t live with too much doubt or fear

No matter what comes, no matter from where
We need to find this power so rare
Which gives us vision beyond our toil
And all our enemies’ plans will foil

The dreams we have, the plans we make
Will take us somewhere, no mistake
So ask where happiness lives for you
And move there now, it’s simple and true

Handle With Care

Handle With Care

Life is fragile, well we know
Each soul a billion ways to go
Strong forces pull from every side
Sometimes you can’t enjoy the ride

Decisions are needed, things are real
A dream is not the final deal
So listen, yes, and read the signs
Then move with care through fields of mines

The future should be good for all
So what’s this grief which may befall?
The truth won’t let us hide from doubt
We want to live, not be without

Yet life’s explosive now and then
The wrong wire kills a thousand men
A reckless move could be the end
Many years it takes to mend

Then grow more strong each passing day
Until it’s time to move away
For life’s too short to simply stare
Take action in life, but handle with care

Have No Fear

Have No Fear

Fear won’t help, so keep it out
There’s no use hiding from those who shout
Or running away from every fight
Sometimes you need to say what’s right

For fear is used by those with greed
To keep the quiet and humble in need
The game goes on and innocents cry
The question keeps on running – why?

The ones who need to raise their voice
Will quietly wait, it’s everyone’s choice
And one day all shall suddenly change
The world is more than a little strange

So in the meantime, take some rest
And don’t imagine all are blessed
For some are damned, I have no doubt
Unless they change their lives about

And keep on dreaming, don’t give in
For human life is more than sin
We don’t just live to serve man’s greed
So rise from fear – be strong, take heed

Patience

Patience

Yesterday is far too late
We’ll lose the deal, they missed the bait
So here’s the next thing, this is great
Work now, I haven’t a minute to wait

The best advice is never stop
And never sleep, you’ll be a flop
Success comes to the busy mind
And all the rest are left behind

But wait a sec, is this all true?
What’s this old tripe I’m serving you
Is hard work always what you need
What says your soul, is this just greed?

For time’s not money, and work won’t free
The Nazi mind is not for me
The truth is far beyond such things
From heaven an angel softly sings

So listen closely, don’t be fooled
Your freedom can’t be over-ruled
Make choices whilst you have the time
With patience you’ll defeat this crime

What’s It For?

What’s It For?

More and more we seem to use
Each day there’s something to amuse
We’re entertained beyond all dreams
A life of luxury, so it seems

In quieter moments, we might ask
Amidst all this, is there a task?
A reason for our time on earth
Perhaps something which might give us worth

The answers lie in dungeons deep
And sometimes high on mountains steep
The search is on, despite our land
And dreams in mind, forever grand

It makes no difference what befalls
Your hopes and fears aren’t held by walls
The fight for justice rages on
And powers will fall, dictators gone

So have no doubt the world will change
Although some things seem out of range
All work that’s done cuts to the core
And solves the riddle of ‘what’s it for?’

Monsters

Monsters

Monsters can be found, you know
If you discover just where they go
But do you want to seek them out?
Take my advice, and just say no

For ‘though they can be cuddly things
They also have sharp teeth, and wings
They move so fast and bite so hard
And may destroy both paupers and kings

So make your choice, but think quite deep
Take clues from others and whilst you sleep
And when you act, sow things which last
And make your chance, at last, to reap

The monsters won’t let all this be
They’ll interfere, now hear my plea
Just leave the monsters well alone
And then your life can be care-free

A Passion for Life

A Passion for Life

If life is dull then look within
And ask yourself where to begin
For passion is found outside, for sure
But what’s inside – can you give more?

The thoughts and actions of each day
Will bring destruction or pave the way
So build the dream you know is yours
And start today, this worthy cause

When all is done and things move on
You could be wondering where it’s gone
Unless you built the life you meant
It’s built today from your intent

So find this passion and bring it through
To work in everything you do
Then life begins and all is new
And yes, all this began with you

The Water of Life

The Water of Life

Amidst the turmoil and the strife
Remember to seek the water of life
It flows from springs and gushes from creeks
Listen carefully for it never speaks

The fire burns on and tempers flare
The ‘media’ churns on whilst we stare
And minds of light with hearts of gold
Look on, amazed, as things unfold

So turn away from dark days passed
And look instead to what will last
The dripping may sound faint at first
But still it runs, yet still we thirst

The seeking takes a billion forms
Can take us through a million storms
But getting wet and struggling through
Will bring to life both me and you

Then ready for more, another day
The past has been washed far away
Progressive thoughts and powerful belief
This water of life brings such relief

See It Through

See It Through

If starting something useful
Then you know what you must do
It’s a simple observation
But you have to see it through

For history is littered
With the dreams and hopes of men
Who began then quit their mission
Will you let that be again?

Yes the only one who’s able
To complete the task in hand
Is the reader of these words
Future’s written in the sand

So begin to make those changes
Which you know will make things right
There is so much more to come
Revolution, perhaps, in sight

And remember, now, be gentle
No matter what you do
Think of others ‘midst your plan
Yet you still can see it through
