Be Prepared!

Be Prepared!

Be prepared!  You never know
One day we’re here, but soon must go
Around the corner, anyone’s guess
Yet have no fear, have no distress

For what’s the point in worrying so?
Tomorrow’s unknown, just take things slow
A panic will usually end things wrong
With patience, learn what’s truly strong

The meek and mild, the quiet and true
Not those who shout and scream at you
The ones who listen and take things in
Forgiving and helping, seeing through sin

The world is not a boring place
It’s full of life, both grime and grace
The good things must be grown and shared
So get to work, and BE PREPARED!

Fire and Ice

Fire and Ice

Extremes are bad, some people say
Just keep the straight and narrow way
And yes, this mostly works for all
Or does it?  Do you hear a call?

Results are won by what you do
So are you happy?  Need something new?
It may be worth to push for more
The future has so much in store

See what the gifts within can bring
You perhaps can paint, or write, or sing
Or simply care for those in need
Your gift will hide from minds of greed

So what’s for you?  You have the choice
Potential’s great, you have a voice
Move forward then, with fiery heart
Melt those of ice, it’s time to start

Deal of the Day

Deal of the Day

Roll up, roll up, there’s something here
And bring your friends, there’s nothing to fear
This deal’s the one you’ve always sought
You’ll be so glad once you have bought

The price is not what you may think
You’ll doubt your eyes, you’ll frown and blink
But here’s the deal, it can’t be beat
I’ve checked computers, here’s the sheet

OK, these folk can drive us mad
But work’s just work, they’re not so bad
Take charge of what you want and need
And then you won’t fall prey to greed

For all is happening, life won’t stop
Far worse is done, don’t blame the shop
Besides, some things keep fear at bay
Just look – this deal could make your day

Dreams of Change

Dreams of Change

If you doubt your dreams today
Then by tomorrow, they’ve flown away
Hold fast then, don’t you let them go
Your gifts and talents you need to show

For somewhere in this busy land
There waits a quiet and helping hand
You may not know just where this lies
But when it’s found, your dreams can rise

The changes which will come are great
They’ll prove that they were worth the wait
And looking back, all shall makes sense
No matter what passed, however intense

So open-minded, bold and strong
The time has come to leave what’s wrong
And welcome dreams which drive you far
A whole new world from where you are

A Careful Plan

A Careful Plan

Think through each part of your great plan
You don’t know all, you’re just a man
Yet still there’s chance to do your best
So work things out, then take your rest

There’s time to set the future well
Just take things slow, don’t oversell
Your patience pays, your goals are sure
And every setback, you’ll endure

The values you present to all
Will see your rise or perhaps your fall
So make each choice with sharpened thought
For thinking wrongly, you’ll be caught

Oh yes, a time for every soul
To see the plan achieve its goal
The things we wish will come to be
So plan with care, and then you’ll see

Something New

Something New

Every day there’s something new
And here we are, still me and you
How much has changed through all the years?
Our hopes and dreams, our loves and fears

The human search will not relent
The truths we found and spoke, we meant
Although things change around our lives
The truth within still fights and strives

So keep on moving, through the fray
Ignoring won’t move things away
It all is real, it all is there
But keep your goal, and always care

For somewhere out there, all is known
Each gift of kindness, love that’s shown
It won’t be missed, it helps somehow
And something new will start from now

The Visitors

The Visitors

Listen closely, can you hear?
They’re on their way, will soon be here
From distant lands they’re searching on
And we’re still wondering where they’ve gone

For caves and paintings hold the clues
Da Vinci, Tesla – try their shoes
For knowledge is passed around each land
And only courage will help you stand

The force of life which all could hold
Is used by those who think so bold
That nothing escapes their watchful eye
Hope good prevails, and never the lie

Technology more than rabbits now breeds
It’s come to life to suit our ‘needs’
A film in light, a voice is sent
From east to west, at speed of intent

So watch the skies and question more
The future holds so much in store
And will the visitors like our view?
I hope so greatly.  How about you?

Material Gains

Material Gains

Who is happy?  Raise your hand
How much was paid?  A hundred grand?
The things we have might make us smile
And then they’ll rust in just a while

Of course it’s good to build and grow
Our plans are set, we reap and sow
Yet when ensnared in want or greed
We sacrifice the things we need

So search beyond, not just on earth
This place where we were given birth
For destiny won’t conclude down here
Eternal truths will beat your fear

Submit to truth, allow it in
A quiet voice amidst the din
Materials may be gained and lost
Remember your values, never the cost

The Future

The Future

What will be, who could now guess?
The future waits, not to impress
It simply, quietly, now invites
Us all to craft more days and nights

The days and nights are empty now
The choice is ours to fill them – how?
Each choice we have, each act we make
Will bring new tides, make no mistake

The power within you know is real
It’s spooky, what will be the deal?
Be sure you’re ready, for things move fast
Awake with nets, it’s time to cast

The catch will be whatever you’ve planned
Intent builds castles from water and sand
Be not afraid to grasp the wheel
It could be ink, or breath, or steel

The medium holds no sway with me
It’s not just art we need to see
The call is greater than earthly mud
Though passion involves both sweat and blood

So keep on rising from the mire
More lessons learned, you’ll rise still higher
And when the answer comes at last
The future shines with dreams which passed

What Might Have Been

What Might Have Been

We’ll never know what might have been
The mystery remains unseen
Oh daring soul, why must you flee?
The need is great for bravery

Within this world such lies are told
The truth takes time, yet shall unfold
But will you search or look away?
The choice is yours, not mine to say

The dangers live, none would deny
But fear can blind each hopeful eye
So rise above the doubtful throng
There’s much to find beyond what’s wrong

A riddle indeed, yet simply this
Your mind seeks peace, your soul seeks bliss
A world in turmoil, no surprise
But true conviction never shies

The focus needed brings what’s true
Apply your mind, not just for you
For conquering weakness helps us all
Allows each soul to hear its call

We’re part of something far more great
There’s no more time for us to wait
So turn each page and read each scene
Think future, not what might have been
