Love Will Win

Love Will Win

Love will win, ignore the rest
No money or power will stand the test
And as for lust, it falls in flame
When faced with love, all else is lame

And every mind and heart will know
How strongly love can change life’s flow
And how its endless depths are hid
From every other claim or bid

These words are not to be discussed
They hold the truth, so heed you must
And if the truth won’t be enough
Then sorry times will come, they must

Ignore in peril the call of love
No thing on earth or thing above
Could argue or reject its call
When love is there, it conquers all

But take great care when faced with this
Love doesn’t guarantee your bliss
A battle ahead, a stormy sea
Yet fight on through, for faith’s the fee

And if you find you’ve been deceived
Then blessed are you to have believed
For love is real and all will see
That on our death-bed, just one plea

The plea is that we loved enough
We cared and tried, we didn’t bluff
Amidst the noise and childish games
We rose in honour and fanned the flames

For burning are the hearts of all
Respect this love and hear its call
No matter what you’ve seen or know
True love will win, true love will grow

The Hive

The Hive

Within the hive a thousand songs
Of work and play, of rights and wrongs
The speakers and the passers-by
The ones who win, the ones who try

A closer look and all is new
The ones you thought were small now grew
And what of those who had the power?
Confusion reigns, their lives turned sour

Why is the hive in disarray?
Why can’t these creatures find the way?
A question since the dawn of time
We’ll live and die within this rhyme

And where’s the exit?  Why so hard?
Who will deal the winning card?
The cries and blood will not give in
The minds of all now believe they’ll win

The hive has reached the time of hope
A vision must come to help us cope
A vision with calm and peace to bring
To save the hive, to quell the sting

We Will Not Rest

We Will Not Rest

We will not rest until we’re through
There’s far too much for us to do
Unceasing in the quest we serve
From all its needs we will not swerve

Although Rome took more than a day
It wasn’t built by looking away
Each detail needed focussed thought
Success was worked for, and thus brought

A brief reprise from time to time
Then pushing forward, fighting grime
And washing decay from every place
In hope to see a smiling face

For every act and chore we do
Will help in ways we never knew
We’re worth more than we’d ever believe
Great hopes are here we must achieve

So listen to people who move out
And get things done, not scream and shout
The lazy never will be blessed
Then let’s beware of too much rest

A Moving Target

A Moving Target

A moving target, so they say
Is hard to hit, it’s gone each day
It’s not so hard to keep things new
Just be yourself in all you do

For when you’re honest you’ll find much more
A life of lies shuts every door
A breath of air is truth when told
So take advice and be so bold

And yes the truth upsets the frauds
It tears down houses, breaks the boards
Yet after this, a time of peace
And new horizons will release

Adventures in a a world unseen
Without a president or queen
Each soul discovering why it’s there
In simple truth, because they care

Within the complex webs which spin
Take time to learn how to begin
No matter what age or life before
Keep moving, you’ll learn so much more

Help

Help

Sometimes people make things work
You’ll see around your life they lurk
You may not like or trust those souls
But they could help you reach your goals

Life’s complex web is daily spun
And dreams can die before begun
So tread with care when moving out
Try not to miss what it’s about

The smallest things can make great change
The target may not seem in range
And yet each tiny thing we do
Will move things, take a wider view

Perspective should be thought upon
Another’s mind has light which shone
And did we see those rays of hope
Or fail to grasp the helpful rope

Of course not all are there to aid
Some folk would see us drowned or flayed
But most are friends if we can believe
And help is there, our dreams to weave

Strategy

Strategy

Think it out, so much to plan
But if not you, another man
So this task now has come to you
You’ll need good strategy, see it through

A million fell whilst making plans
They thought they had a billion fans
Yet somehow when a need arose
The fans had gone, away life flows

So liquid can this life become
Without the focus known by some
Take charge then, which will you now be
A mind with cloud or clarity?

The road is wide, the traffic wild
It’s just no place to leave a child
You won’t last long if you can’t see
The other side, where you will be

So watch your vision and see it’s strong
Don’t fret when endless things go wrong
For when the strategy serves the goal
You rise with power from life’s black hole

The Skies

The Skies

Watch the skies, a change is near
And do your best, but have no fear
For all this jargon soon will end
From timeless space they’ve sent a friend

Amidst the details and the lies
The truth cuts through and brings surprise
And all those things we hate with passion
Mysteriously go out of fashion

The friends we knew have changed or gone
But all is new and things move on
A goal will then be reached in time
To fresh rich pastures so sublime

And looking down upon all this
The friend who knew he couldn’t miss
From places which the world can’t know
He took his aim and helped us grow

The one I speak of can’t be told
You may not find his hand to hold
Yet know that somewhere way out there
The skies are watching, please take care

The Game

The Game

For some ‘enough’ does not exist
They can’t play chess, draughts, bridge or whist
The only game they play is money
Try making jokes, they’ll say ‘not funny’

I’ve seen so many that think they’re right
They think that everything is ‘tight’
They scoff when people try to dream
Their only friend, the income stream

And games, such games!  As if they’re fun
The winner has never really won
For there’s another round to come
And then another – who knows the sum?

So from this point just be aware
That evil lives and breeds out there
As subtle as snakes in fancy dress
For all to see, a laughable mess

But play the game if ever you need
For money won’t always bring you greed
These folk might sometimes help you out
And when you win just smile, don’t shout

An Open Book

An Open Book

Life is just an open book
You might now take another look
For what you missed the first time round
Is still there waiting to be found

Another chance, another way
Don’t be put off by what they say
Head onwards into where you’re bound
You’re covering more than solid ground

By every thought and every hope
Which sees the light and helps us cope
We’re led to something far more grand
Preparing now our final stand

The leaves are bound to help you out
Read on, see what life’s all about
The tree is strong, with endless roots
Be open for those nice green shoots

Don’t close the book or think it bland
If it be new or second-hand
Somewhere within there’ll be a clue
Read on, the book’s inviting you

A Day Of Rest

A Day Of Rest

We all will need a day of rest
Or else we’ll never be our best
If six days are enough for Him
The same for me, it’s not a whim

For resting brings some great delights
And warms the coldest of your nights
An insight which may have been lost
Amidst obsession with fees and cost

The deepest things are always there
And all will pass, so have a care
The right response is strive for good
But take a break, you know we should

Then look, another day has come
The time for action, hear the drum
And act with wisdom, gentle grace
For rested, you can win the race
