Words

Words

Spiralling out into the night
My words will reach you in the fight
And help you more than you might guess
Not set to blind or to impress

Take charge of where you want to go
There’s always more that you don’t know
Ignore the fact and carry on
Or things will pass and all is gone

A positive mind will bring more good
It may seem hard, that’s understood
But thinking any other way
Will only risk some more dismay

The goal you seek, it must be held
Within you mind, where all is gelled
The place where new adventures start
The mind can guide dreams of the heart

And yet the heart has to ignite
The hope and passion are also right
With checks that all is for the good
Keep moving how you know you should

A riddle indeed, but you should know
We’re all the same, we reap and sow
The mystery sometimes isn’t so great
And simple words might ease your fate

Times Of Change

Times Of Change

Times of change are coming fast
Prepare your future, leave the past
Remember yesterday, it was fun
But now another day’s begun

Each passing moment something new
So many things come into view
And why hold on to things which hurt?
A million wrongs you could avert

Be brave then as you face the day
Remember you will find your way
There’s help which comes despite your doubt
You’ll not forever be without

Believe in what you never knew
How could there not be more than you
Outside a busy world, and more
Great times of change beyond that door

The Bigger Picture

The Bigger Picture

The bigger picture’s always there
Step back and see, take time to care
For stuck in details, daily grind
Our minds are full, our eyes are blind

More things are happening than we’ll know
But sometimes we should try to grow
With how we view the world we’re in
The depths of greatness and of sin

All things are possible, yes it’s true
But not right now, perhaps not for you
For things are placed within life’s stream
To slow our ways, to test our dream

So where then are we left at last?
With memories of the things which past
And still the drive to move things on
For fear the hopes and dreams be gone

Remember then, there’s time to rest
And in this time we see things best
A view of life that’s so much richer
Let’s survey the bigger picture

A Searching World

A Searching World

A searching world will never rest
Each searching part looks for the best
The thoughts and drive of every mind
Keeps moving on, has things to find

And when surprising truths are found
You might not hear a single sound
Because there’s peace in such a place
A quiet rest from mankind’s race

Amidst the search, then, take some time
Check what is building – grace or crime
For in pursuit of learning more
An endless host waits at your door

Invite the things which fit your plan
Not every spirit or every man
Be strong, it’s time to make your choice
A searching world can’t steal your voice

Courage and Faith

Courage and Faith

Never give up!  Life moves and sways
And each dark night gives way to rays
Of morning sun and hope renewed
For courage and faith were quietly brewed

No matter where you search or look
In any mind, or heart, or book
Life’s lessons will come, in time for all
We all must learn, let’s breach the wall

For stuck in nothingness won’t suffice
It’s time to move and face our vice
The space between our life and goals
Can be traversed, start filling holes

And with new hope and open mind
Move on beyond the daily grind
The winds of change invite you on
With courage and faith, where others have gone

Seize The Day

Seize the Day

Time to work and time to play
Remember you must seize the day
No matter what plans you make and do
The only way’s to see them through

If time slips by and nothing’s done
You’ll look back, wishing you had won
But chances passed and all moved on
The prize you had in mind has gone

A difficult balance, you want what’s fair
And some will suffer whilst some don’t care
Yet still you have your life to live
There’s much to find and much to give

And when does all this action start?
Your finest hour, your work of art
It’s not my call, for none can say
But somehow you must seize the day

A Happy Birthday

A Happy Birthday

A happy birthday to myself
Some lovely cards upon the shelf
And words of love which warm the heart
Another year of life to start

The kindness which I see is strong
Far greater than the world of wrong
And days like this confirm still more
Much happiness waits, much joy’s in store

So thank you all for what you do
Each day brings new things into view
And yes, today the poem’s for me
A happy birthday this will be
