Where Things May Lead

Where Things May Lead

Who can guess where things may lead?
You learn today by what you read
And then tomorrow, with surprise
You’ve somehow grown a little wise

Be careful as you fill your mind
The deeper powers are never blind
With children more than ever, look
They’re quoting from that film or book

And now with strength beyond compare
The powers that be can find you there
Fear not, but see that none escape
When intervention comes to shape

Then what if friends from distant stars
Came down to mock our feeble cars?
The game is changed and new indeed
So now let’s see where things may lead…

Timeless

Timeless

Timeless is the soul that tries
To rise above the worldly lies
It’s seeking love and nothing less
In such a barren wilderness

To rise and fall each day is tough
When seeking diamonds in the rough
Yet they are there and may be found
They glisten, but without a sound

So music may contain deceit
It’s full of tricks, can have you beat
Make room for silence here and there
A balance makes you more aware

If lost in sound, or other things
You may find you have grown some wings
Then try them out and fly – you must
And timeless are the souls which trust

Wide Awake

Wide Awake

Despite the dark I’m wide awake
I see some give and others take
I’m watching from a place of hope
And forming words to help us cope

The games play on, folk live and die
Whilst ships of light are in the sky
And eyes of wisdom watch in vein
As mankind seals its fate again

A planet lost in violent greed
Whilst beauty waits in every seed
A painful lesson for the young
That songs, at times, are left unsung

So where’s the hope?  I hear you cry
These words are willing us to die
Yet die we must, one day in time
Then what’s the value of a dime?

You see my friends, all things will pass
And that’s the key, we’re like the grass
One day to grow and play our part
Then time to sow as we depart

Think positive then, our time is now
To truly learn what we’ll allow
The future world is ours to make
How shall it be?  Stay wide awake

Life Won’t Wait

Life Won’t Wait

Take these words, as from a mate
The simple fact is: life won’t wait
Each day will come and go in turn
Some wasted it whilst others learn

Read on and work with what you must
Don’t be a slave to greed or lust
More precious days await the mind
Which grows beyond the lost and blind

Another clue from life’s rich field
With changing views, then life may yield
If stuck then nothing moves at all
The horse still waiting in its stall

And countless moves are played each day
The game of life won’t go away
So take your place and plan your fate
For anyone, this life won’t wait

Another Chance

Another Chance

Every day another chance
To move on up, beyond the trance
Which seeks to keep you in your place
By staying there you’ll lose the race

Then take the chance to learn some more
Don’t be the victim or the bore
Although there’s help for those who are
Much more is gained by striving far

An eye to what potential waits
As we have more than all the greats
We strive to copy and fail by choice
We all should find our own true voice

No other can say where we are bound
The answers may elude, as sound
One moment set, but one more glance
And all is new – another chance

Truth Will Win

Truth Will Win

Through the years, despite our sin
There’s never doubt that truth will win
It simply is, none could complain
When faced with it, so clear again

So if you’re lost in countless lies
Get ready for a new surprise
For once you take the devil’s road
Then angels bring light overload

Your mind is lifted way beyond
You’d think God waved a magic wand
And all is changed beyond your dreams
To write it down needs countless reams

And know just as a child can see
The keys are there, all may be free
Today’s the day it must begin
Your heart will open, truth will win

Love

Love

Love takes many forms indeed
It’s something that we all will need
From birth to death it must be there
It may be hidden, you might ask where

In friends and family, spread so far
In people searching for the star
Amidst the doubt and narrow eyes
From time to time some hope still flies

And what moves now from way down deep?
The truth which comes whilst we’re asleep
A ray of light which cuts through fear
Reminding us that joy is near

Ignore then every word of doom
For negative thoughts allow no room
It’s time to fill your mind with belief
That life and love will bring relief
