Time Moves On
Time moves on, and what has changed?
Some things, for sure, have rearranged
But you will find within this land
That very slowly things are planned
And sometimes plans are never seen
Despite a dream, however keen
The chances that we see may pass
To be cut down, much like the grass
Then don’t be slow to show you care
The world is neither cruel nor fair
It’s up to us by how we live
Make time to share and time to give
Tomorrow brings another thought
More precious than the things we bought
So much has passed, so much has gone
Then tread with care as time moves on

change
Winds Of Change
Winds Of Change
Strongly blow the winds of change
This world at times can rearrange
And all you thought you knew so well
Transformed beyond what you can tell
A strange and happy twist of fate
An answer coming now, so late
Don’t ask the reason for this shift
At times we just receive a gift
The sender lives so far away
Beyond the clouds, no night or day
Another world, another plane
Aware of all our loss and gain
So sleeping we receive the news
And somehow change and build our views
To vistas rich with good intent
A beauty which will not relent
Within this veil of earthly charms
We notice also men of arms
Still hoping war moves out of range
And love’s swept in on winds of change

Simple Lives
Simple Lives
Simple lives can bring such joy
That complications can destroy
Take time when choosing how to live
A gift we have, so what to give?
The daily message we receive
Might not be helpful, try to believe
The media and the voices tell
Of grim despair, a living hell
Yet what’s beyond the tales of doom?
In our small lives there must be room
For joyful times and kindly deeds
Prepare the future with these seeds
For all will grow from here and now
A change of heart we should allow
Stay open-minded, much arrives
When happy with our simple lives

Things Can Change
Things Can Change
Things can change, they often do
No point in worry, change your view
And with a new perspective see
That we were made to live care-free
No doubt it’s not a guarantee
And easy this might not quite be
A disarray of themes which run
As freedom’s thoughts have now begun
So easy if we were just told
No questions and a hand to hold
Yet sometimes we’re just cast down here
With little more than hope and fear
So think right now where might you go
If you were simply in the flow
No pressures from your work or home
The chance to freely dream and roam
An exercise in mind was this
For all may know a time of bliss
Step back from problems, rearrange
And keep in mind that things can change

Travel On
Travel On
There’s more to learn here, travel on
The childish dreams have long since gone
Escape the cage you chose to take
All things can happen once awake
You’ll find the thing you made now works
And yet beware, for danger lurks
Choose well which mask now to adorn
New chances every day are born
Think back to when the world began
And here we are, so what’s the plan?
So small we are, so big we think
No wonder lives are on the brink
We have so much, so what’s it for?
Let’s think today, not just want more
For life won’t bring that dream, sublime
Until we learn to take our time
We move as far into the throng
As we move in, or all goes wrong
So let’s reflect on what has gone
And then, with hope, we’ll travel on

The Song Remains
The Song Remains
The food of love it may well be
So much it brings, so much for free
And music has so much to teach
For every heart it soon will reach
No hiding from the sounds which weave
Enjoyment and a chance to believe
For many forms this power can take
To send asleep or keep awake
So listen close and learn some more
The music serves both rich and poor
And when mankind is swept away
The music still may want to play
Enjoy each note and gentle phrase
The need is great for peace these days
And also chaos may be found
No end to what we do with sound
Keep open then to what may play
Don’t dare to cast this gift away
It holds the keys to other planes
The world moves on, the song remains

The Time Is Now
The Time Is Now
The time is now, so make a choice
And use your mind, your hands, your voice
No waiting for what may not be
Some action now could make you free
Yet what to choose in such a land?
So many still can’t understand
That life is ours to make or break
A life asleep or life awake
And lies, yes lies, are daily spread
What makes us believe what we are fed?
The hope that maybe all is well
Whilst thousands drive the road to hell
So harsh at times these words may seem
But look around, it’s not a dream
Some change we need so let’s ask how
Get up and try, the time is now

Who We Are
Who We Are
We never could change who we are
Yet we can move and travel far
To grow in ways we’d never guess
The ceaseless quest for happiness
And friends we’ve known have left their mark
As have the foes, don’t fear the dark
Yet still we’re here, amidst life’s mess
Still searching for some happiness
Careers and families come and go
Within this world of ebb and flow
They rise and fall, with more or less
And still in need of happiness
The riddle is near its joyful end
I hope you worked it out, my friend
Don’t be derailed, no more digress
For who we are is happiness

Be The Change
Be The Change
Life can quickly rearrange
When you decide to be the change
It’s strange to some, but free for all
The writing, still, is on the wall
The ones who help and truly care
Will be found out, you’ll see them there
So listen to the friends you know
They’ll help you with the way to go
And what of you? More choices now
Some things to block, some to allow
Control of what comes in and out
Until you learn what it’s about
So calmer now, you finally know
That as you reap then you will sow
See many targets in your range
Your time has come to be the change

Happy New Year
Happy New Year
Many hopes still unfulfilled
Despite how strongly they were willed
But when reflecting on what’s been
Recall the details of each scene
Like Sherlock, you may find what’s real
The things which matter in each deal
For passing quickly are our lives
And onward our intention drives
So what is possible from this place?
Choose wisely, all are in the race
And wishes may not be enough
Prepare them well, life can be tough
Dream on, then, and with equal measure
To sacrifice and things of pleasure
The resolutions must be kept
Or once again those tears are wept
So positive thinking, will of steel
Move with thought, and don’t just feel
Another chance to break through fear
To all, my friends, a Happy New Year!
