The Time Is Now

The Time Is Now

The time is now, so make a choice
And use your mind, your hands, your voice
No waiting for what may not be
Some action now could make you free

Yet what to choose in such a land?
So many still can’t understand
That life is ours to make or break
A life asleep or life awake

And lies, yes lies, are daily spread
What makes us believe what we are fed?
The hope that maybe all is well
Whilst thousands drive the road to hell

So harsh at times these words may seem
But look around, it’s not a dream
Some change we need so let’s ask how
Get up and try, the time is now

Giving Up

Giving Up

No good would come from giving up
For still half full is life’s great cup
Seek out success and what may be
Fine things will come but not for free

Don’t dwell on past mistakes or loss
A rolling stone rejects the moss
And finds its way to pastures new
A cleansing river, crystal blue

Look up and see the circling birds
Then far beyond these meager words
Are worlds of light and minds of power
Which work to find you every hour

Amidst the humdrum thoughts which press
A ray of hope will come to bless
Reminding all that life moves on
And thoughts of giving up – all gone

Talking

Talking

Talking helps the people see
Just who we are and what may be
Both good and bad will come one day
Revealed by what we have to say

And yet the lies may never end
We’ll search forever for that friend
Who speaks the truth and speaks it well
Who wants to help and not to sell

No more excuses, it’s too late
The worldly systems, far from great
What lies beneath?  Who are we now?
Which truths will be revealed, and how?

Think on the happy times now lost
Pursuit of dreams will have its cost
And talk with friends, for we may find
That talking helps to heal the blind

Troubled Times

Troubled Times

Many live through troubled times
And won’t have time to read these rhymes
So who can help now it’s begun?
A prayer each day, thy will be done

For peace is needed more than fear
No point in panic, this is clear
Some logic and a clear head
Remember what our mentors said

For life moves on, things come to pass
And here we are, ‘midst broken glass
Tread carefully, yes, but never hide
With good and bad we must abide

Stand up and act when it’s your turn
For endless things we have to learn
Save what you can as water climbs
And dream beyond these troubled times

Through It All

Through It All

Never doubting, through it all
With dignity we will stand tall
The end is clear, you see the signs
Amidst the chaos hope still shines

Pandora’s box was open wide
So long before our leaders lied
The fire was set way back in time
Seek well when looking for the crime

The pride of nations some day falls
But in the darkness, one voice calls
It leads us on through what remains
The worldly wreckage brought no gains

So phoenix-like it’s time to rise
Through countless sins and desperate lies
The world is waiting, let’s not stall
Take action now, see through it all

Never Quit

Never Quit

Never quit – a new day waits
I know just what the devil hates
A cheerful smile and helpful friends
Who know life never really ends

The fight’s worthwhile, the goal is sure
And countless joys are all in store
Hold on with all you have, my friends
Your life’s much more than current trends

Look deep within whenever you can
For endless is the soul of man
The journey outwards, also in
And from right here it can begin

Don’t doubt potential in yourself
There’s no such thing as ‘on the shelf’
We’re here to try, the fuse is lit
So do your best and never quit

Beyond The Tears

Beyond The Tears

What may wait beyond the tears?
A brand new day without those fears
A chance to change and start once more
Whilst great new visions wash ashore

The world is vast and yet so small
We’re all just waiting, on the ball
As outside forces bide their time
Observing every hope and crime

Take time, reflect, and don’t rush in
There is no end, so why begin?
A reason for each thought and move
So ask yourself, what must I prove?

Believe beyond the worldly grind
There’s always more to keep in mind
Move on right now, waste no more years
For life awaits beyond the tears

The Future

The Future

Whatever may the future bring?
Decide the song you wish to sing
Then sing it well, for life is short
In many traps we may be caught

The answer then begins from here
The past has gone and truth draws near
Face up to what the calling needs
Into the vast unknown it leads

Have courage and a clear mind
Then things of value you may find
The search moves on from you right now
Don’t be too quick to take your bow

So simply care in all you do
And every venture follow through
With many paths, this vast array
Choose well the future from today

Be A Friend

Be A Friend

It never costs to be a friend
It’s give and take until the end
Some times are hard but some are fun
The good times, only just begun

A call away on any day
True friends just know they’ll find a way
With simple trust in who we are
A friendly word can go so far

Be kind then whilst we’re here below
We all have faults, and far to go
Forgive each day and help friends grow
Some things, for sure, you’ll never know

And come the end of this short life
With all the doubts and hatred rife
We’ll be so glad, if in the end
We took the time to be a friend

Wide Awake

Wide Awake

Despite the dark I’m wide awake
I see some give and others take
I’m watching from a place of hope
And forming words to help us cope

The games play on, folk live and die
Whilst ships of light are in the sky
And eyes of wisdom watch in vein
As mankind seals its fate again

A planet lost in violent greed
Whilst beauty waits in every seed
A painful lesson for the young
That songs, at times, are left unsung

So where’s the hope?  I hear you cry
These words are willing us to die
Yet die we must, one day in time
Then what’s the value of a dime?

You see my friends, all things will pass
And that’s the key, we’re like the grass
One day to grow and play our part
Then time to sow as we depart

Think positive then, our time is now
To truly learn what we’ll allow
The future world is ours to make
How shall it be?  Stay wide awake
