Not A Game

Not A Game

Life, my friend, is not a game
Remember we’re not all the same
Advice, at times, is good and true
At other times it won’t help you

For danger lurks, and troubles too
Each day, we think, there’s something new
Commitment to a worthy cause
Is what we’ll need to beat our flaws

For action happens all the time
A force for good or force for crime
Decide the best that you can do
And find the strength to see it through

Each moment all can change so fast
Good times and bad, they will not last
Perspective brings both joy and shame
We have to learn, it’s not a game

Who Will Know?

Who Will Know?

Within the fog then who will know?
Will all still reap just what they sow?
Remember this – the fog will clear
And truth comes in, dispelling fear

Think on then, for these times will weave
An action comes from what we believe
It may not be the one we guessed
But somehow someone knows what’s best

Despite our weakness and our doubt
We still can hope, survive the drought
A brighter day now lies in wait
Have courage, things may soon be great

Don’t worry, for that never wins
A brand new story now begins
Our gifts we’ll bring, our lives may flow
It doesn’t matter who will know

Winds Of Change

Winds Of Change

Strongly blow the winds of change
This world at times can rearrange
And all you thought you knew so well
Transformed beyond what you can tell

A strange and happy twist of fate
An answer coming now, so late
Don’t ask the reason for this shift
At times we just receive a gift

The sender lives so far away
Beyond the clouds, no night or day
Another world, another plane
Aware of all our loss and gain

So sleeping we receive the news
And somehow change and build our views
To vistas rich with good intent
A beauty which will not relent

Within this veil of earthly charms
We notice also men of arms
Still hoping war moves out of range
And love’s swept in on winds of change

Getting Through

Getting Through

Sometimes enough just getting through
Although I want much more for you
Yet life can be a tricky thing
So learn to talk before you sing

And when the world seems cold and cruel
Remember not to give it fuel
Stay focused on the task at hand
When finished then you’ll understand

A roller-coaster in these times
No end to those deluded crimes
But through the darkness comes a light
It may awake you in the night

So keep a watch, good friend of mine
And learn to read with every sign
Great things await both me and you
But just for now, we’re getting through

Spinning Plates

Spinning Plates

Life can be like spinning plates
Complete a task, one more awaits
So take your time and don’t rush in
No stopping things once they begin

Decisions must be made each day
Take care of what you choose to say
But don’t stay silent, that won’t do
Some work is waiting just for you

And lazy people must beware
Of simply sitting with no care
For one day time has flown away
Then only age will have its way

Take action now and make your plan
The race so long ago began
You know it’s just the fool who waits
Success may come from spinning plates

The Answer

The Answer

Where’s the answer? ¬†Who could know?
What happened to interrupt the flow?
Life was so great for everyone
But now it seems all that has gone

Or is there something new to find?
Now past obsessions left our mind
A new day and a chance to move
Get in the zone or in the groove

For here we are and chances come
Too much to take, no doubt, for some
And yet each day a new surprise
You must remember how time flies

So seize the day and make your move
There’s nothing left for us to prove
Except in how we help and give
The answer’s in the way we live

The Time Is Now

The Time Is Now

The time is now, so make a choice
And use your mind, your hands, your voice
No waiting for what may not be
Some action now could make you free

Yet what to choose in such a land?
So many still can’t understand
That life is ours to make or break
A life asleep or life awake

And lies, yes lies, are daily spread
What makes us believe what we are fed?
The hope that maybe all is well
Whilst thousands drive the road to hell

So harsh at times these words may seem
But look around, it’s not a dream
Some change we need so let’s ask how
Get up and try, the time is now
